Proxmox Backup Server is an enterprise-class, client-server backup package which provides strong encryption without compromising on speed or flexibility. The Backup Server is based on a minimal Debian GNU/Linux distribution with built-in ZFS support. Thus, it can be installed on bare-metal, using the downloadable ISO image.
The backup server comes stocked with all the essential management tools you need, as well as an easy-to-use, web-based interface. This allows for simple, out-of-the-box management of your server, either through the command line or a standard web browser.
Proxmox Backup Server is licensed under the GNU AGPLv3 and is free to download and use. It is recommended that the server runs on dedicated hardware rather than being run as a virtualized instance.
