VIENNA, Austria – October 19, 2018 – On Wednesday October 24, 2018 the Proxtalks—the German conference on Proxmox VE - will take place in Frankfurt, Germany. On the annual event centered around the open-source virtualization platform Proxmox VE users, developers and solution providers present use cases, success stories and upcoming product developments. The conference will take place at The Squaire at Frankfurt Airport and is organized by stacktrace GmbH, a Proxmox partner. Proxmox Server Solutions is an official sponsor of the event.
The conference kicks off with a keynote speech by Wolfgang Link from the Proxmox developement team on the upcoming release of version Proxmox VE 5.3. Alwin Antreich from Proxmox explains some technical details of the integration of Ceph storage into the Proxmox platform and provides tips for successfully implementing Proxmox VE/Ceph clusters. The „coolest datacenter“ of the world which is built on a „zero-emmision“ research station on Antarctica will be the topic of the success story by Thomas Petracca from Belgium Eomnia. And Dr. Stefan Vollmar from the Max-Planck-Institute for Metabolic Research will talk about the redundant, highly available virtualization cluster they are running since a couple of years between two datacenter locations, and will also give an insight on their migration plans from VMware to Proxmox VE. Further lectures will focus on software-defined storage solutions and automation.
